Current Obsession: WAYUU TAYA

This summer, I completely embraced the ethnic trend. I have been searching aimlessly for the perfect navajo printed bag and am DROOLING over Wayuu Taya. A non-profit, non governmental organization founded in 2002, "to help improve the lives of Latin-American indigenous communities while maintaining and respecting their traditions, culture and beliefs."

the At $175 a pop, it's a big of a splurge, but I'll forever cherish the fun, ethnic print and vibrant bohemian vibe... each bag is hand crafted by the Wayuu women who reside in a shelter located in Shukumajaya, the foundation's shelter, which is located in Guajira Peninsula in South America. The center provides education on nutrition, parenting, hygiene and family planning. Each work of art is 100% one of a kind and come in an assortment of bold colors and graphic prints.

A one of a kind, gorgeous bag that goes to a good cause 100%? I don't think it gets much better.

Alberta Ferretti S/S 2011

I am dying over this collection. A subtle, dreamy hippie vibe was present through sheer, gauzy layers and light earthy shades of brown, sage, dove grey and . Femininity is fresh again- tiny minis in darling lace and eyelet ensembles paired with gladiators, intricate crochet pieces paired with floating chiffon layers with flora prints makes me want to lay in a field on a warm summers day making daisy chains. The collection was quite bohemian, channelling the 70's trend for the season. Lace, long lengths and light weight fabrics make up this organic, romantic collection.
